Eunice Byun Talks About Meaningful Kitchen Experiences

There are so many photos and videos on the internet in which people show off their aesthetically pleasing kitchens, their latest kitchen gadgets, and their wonderful kitchen experiences. However, despite this trend, there are a lot of people who don’t get to have that kind of kitchen experience due to various reasons. It’s because of these reasons that they don’t enjoy cooking and this may sound like a cliche, but this predicament could have an impact on your eating habits as well. Think about it: people who’re not inclined towards cooking are most likely to spend their money ordering out. Therefore, kitchenware brand Material has focused on creating items that can make your kitchen experience delightful, and this is exactly what Eunice Byun and Dave Nguyen have set out to do!

Material: The Modern Kitchen Experience

Dave Nguyen and Eunice Byun decided that they wanted to give their customers a whole new range of things that are needed in the kitchen. Byun is looking forward to modernizing the cooking experience with detail-driven designed tools that not only help the cook but also make the cook joyful while cooking. Ever since its launch in 2018, the brand has managed to create a community of over 50,000 people who share the same interests!

The co-founders derive inspiration from their traditional family cook-outs and their Vietnamese and Korean cultures. This is also one of the reasons why Byun is keen on growing the community and giving a platform to AAPI voices. Recently, the company donated 50% of its profits from a recent launch to #hateisavirus, so you can say that this brand is more than just selling kitchen products.

Meet Eunice Byun

A vast majority of people think that Byun was a cook before she launched her brand, however, the reality is that she started her career as a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs. She then went on to launch multiple startups and even served as an advisor for many new businesses before following it up by working as the VP of global marketing at Revlon. It was during this time that she worked on developing social media strategies and digital marketing campaigns to support the brand. It wasn’t long after that Eunice joined hands with Nguyen and together, they developed a whole new brand of their own that focuses on modernizing the cooking experience.
