Can true love wait? The Covid-19 outbreak has disrupted the norm as we know it and has canceled everything that people have planned out, including big weddings.
Even celebrity couples are not spared by the new strain of the coronavirus, which means their carefully organized weddings are not going to happen anytime soon. Here are the stars who were forced to delay their union:
Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi
The eldest daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York and her businessman fiancé are supposed to tie the knot on May 29 at St. James Place and while it is more than a month away, there is no way that the cure for the coronavirus will be developed by the time. As such, the couple’s plans have been up in the air, leaving fans disappointed.
There were rumors that they will push through with the original date but with only a smaller number of guests – however, a spokesperson revealed that the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. were reviewing the arrangements and weighing risks. According to the grapevine, the much-awaited event will be moved to 2021 and will be a grander, more luxurious one, just like her sister’s.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom
The oh-so-sweet pair announced that they were expecting their first bundle of joy with a bang, but fans may be delighted to know that they are planning for a wedding this year as well. Apparently, the singer and the actor are eyeing to be husband and wife in Japan anytime in summer.
However, as early as March, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom preemptively canceled the wedding. As per a source, there were supposed to be 150 guests and the singer was excited to walk down the aisle with a baby bump.
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez
When Alex Rodriguez got down on one knee to ask for Jennifer Lopez’s hand in marriage, everyone lost it – could there be any more perfect couple than them? Everyone expected that their upcoming exchange of vows will be lavish.
In one interview, the retired footballer hinted it’s going to take place abroad and as per a source, it was supposed to happen this summer. But fate has other things in mind (read: coronavirus), so they were forced to hold their plans until this is over.
Emma Stone and Dave McCary
The Easy A star and the Saturday Night Live writer reportedly hoped to exchange I Do’s in March, when the United States first felt the wrath of the coronavirus. This plan didn’t pan out and we have yet to know when this will actually materialize.
