Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews
Some people are lucky enough to meet the love of their life in high school. Just ask Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews. They were both high school athletes back then but were involved in different sports. Mahomes played football and baseball while Matthews was on the soccer team.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback eventually proposed, and they married on March 12, 2020. While he is busy training, she divides her time between being a certified fitness trainer and a co-owner of Kansas City Current, a professional women’s soccer team. They are blessed with two children: a daughter, Sterling Skye, and a son, born in 2022, called Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon.
Rob Gronkowski and Camille Kostek
What is it with football players and cheerleaders of the same team only meeting if it happens away from the field? Rob Gronkowski and Camille Kostek might have an answer. In 2013, both were with the New England Patriots. But they only met for the first time during a charity event.

The couple has been together for a long time yet appears to be in no rush to get engaged or exchange vows. However, they are very supportive of each other’s careers. Gronkowski celebrated Kostek’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition cover revealed in 2019. And she has been equally vocal about backing his 2022 decision to retire from football.
Howie Long And Diane Addonizio
Howie Long and Diane Addonizio, both students at Villanova University, met and swiftly fell in love. Howie invited Diane to a football game for their first date, and their connection was instant, leading them to a love story that still holds today.

In a short time, they got engaged, and in June 1982, they officially tied the knot, starting their marital journey. Three years later, they welcomed their first child, and their family expanded with two more children over time. Following a successful 13-year career in the NFL, Howie decided to venture into broadcasting and is currently a prominent studio analyst for Fox Sports’ NFL coverage.
Drew Brees and Brittany Dudchenko
Sometimes, talent on the football field goes no further. That was undoubtedly the case when Drew Brees tried a cheesy line on his now-wife Brittany Dudchenko during his birthday party when they were students at Purdue University. He was so embarrassed he didn’t speak to her for six months.

Eventually, he did and married Dudchenko in 2003. The proud parents of four also run the Brees Dream Foundation. The charity organization provides support for cancer patients. As of 2022, it had donated over $35 million to various charities worldwide. When Brees is not helping people get back on their feet, he often joins USO tours.
Cam Newton and Kia Proctor
It’s a sad fact of life that things can often not work out despite so much love. Cam Newton and Kia Proctor know this all too well. They started dating in 2013 but broke up early in 2020. Newton, a quarterback, was reportedly the one to pull the plug. He revealed in an interview that while she was ready to get married, he felt he wasn’t cut out to be a husband.

Procter, meanwhile, is forging ahead while co-parenting her four children with Newton. The social media influencer is a businesswoman and a model. She also has a YouTube channel called “Shades of Kia.”
